Why Does The State Of California Have A DVBE Program?

California Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise (DVBE) Program

“The State of California acknowledges the service and sacrifice of its disabled veterans, in part, through the “Disabled

Veteran Business Enterprise (DVBE) Participation Program.” With the DVBE program, state agencies have a goal to

award at least 3% of their annual contract dollars to certified DVBE’s.”

 

“Every year, each state agency must submit to the legislature an annual report that tracks contract award activity involving DVBEs and SBs. The report must demonstrate that the various participation goals have been met or exceeded. If the minimum goals are not met, the agency must provide a sound justification and the remedial action they will take to attain or exceed the goal(s) the following year.”

 

 

Federal Service Disabled Veteran Owned Business (SDVOB) Program

On October 20, 2004, the President Bush signed Executive Order 13360.

"America honors the extraordinary service rendered to the United States by veterans with disabilities incurred or aggravated in the line of duty during active service with the armed forces. Heads of agencies shall provide the opportunity for service-disabled veteran businesses to significantly increase the Federal contracting and subcontracting of such businesses..."
